My creative cycle is theme-based. 
An idea comes to me,
sparking a small series of portraits. 

Sometimes I draw in graphite, black & white 
to capture pensive moods. 
Sometimes I draw in pastel, bright colors
to convey the person’s spirit. 

I strive to bring out
as many details as possible,
trying to tell you life stories.  

I find achieving real likeness a challenge
& enjoy the a-ha moments
when a nose becomes a nose and
an eye becomes an eye.
